Electric Rain to be used in Strata 3DPro

Electric Rain has signed an agreement to license their proprietary RAViX II vector rendering technology to Strata, makers of the Strata 3Dpro 3D modeling/rendering environment. RAVix will allow future releases of Strata 3DPro to export in Macromedia Flash (SWF), Adobe Illustrator, EPS, and the XML-based SVG formats.

Marmalade Moon has introduced a new set of freeware OS X icons and desktop pictures/wallpapers dubbed Bird Cherry and Lilacs. "It's a bunch of flowers for those who have spent too much time in front of their computers rather than in the fresh air."

Memphis Apple store opening Sept. 29

An anonymous MacNN reader says that "while interviewing for a position today at the Apple store in Memphis, TN, they mentioned that the store will be opening on September 29th." Meanwhile, Apple is apparently having some legal trouble opening the store, which is in the Memphis suburb Germantown, TN.
