The Stock Pick Report has issued an "outperform" rating on Apple's stock for the next 5 to 10 business days. As of 2 PM EST, Apple's shares were down $.16 to $22.27 on relatively low volume, with 1,034,900 shares changing hands.

An Apple power representative for Circuit City sent MacNN an interesting note about the limited availability of iMacs and iBooks noted yesterday. "The iBook 600 is marked 1599.95 any CC product that ends in .96 means it's on it's way out. If it ends in .95 that means it's history. There is also two iMac model price ending in .95."

OSOpinion.com author Kelly McNeill has published an article dubbed "Wanted: A Single Standard for Digital Video," in which he argues for an open alternative to proprietary video sources. McNeill concludes that that the MPEG-4 standard, which will be based around Apple's QuickTime 6, will meet the requirements for a robust, accessible digital video standard.

States urge judge to reject Microsoft delay

Nine states that oppose Microsoft's settlement of its antitrust case have asked a federal judge to deny the company's request for a delay in hearings on alternative punishments today. Microsoft wants a four month delay, but the case remedy hearings are currently scheduled to begin March 11th.
