This past week has brought a number of iPod accessories, such as the PowerJolt Auto Charger by Griffin Technology. This auto adapter keeps an iPod fully charged while on the road. It works with the iPod shuffle, iPod mini, iPod photo and all iPods with dock connectors. The iDiddy for all iPods shipped on Thursday, a wearable leather case and integrated earbud combination that eliminates tangled wires. Speck Products announced its metal iPod protection for the iPod shuffle, providing full access to the iPod shuffle while "keeping it out of harm's way." RadTech rolled out Ice Creme v2, a comprehensive solution for restoring scuffed and damaged Acrylic and bright (plated) metal surfaces, including Apple's iPod and iPod shuffle. Several speaker systems surfaced as well, expanding iPod owners' listening options. iPodWorld unveiled the PodPod folding portable speakers, portable fold-away speakers that deliver 800mW of clear, sharp sound which don't require batteries. Logitech offered us two new portable speaker systems, the mm50 portable speakers for iPods and mm28 portable speakers for other MP3 players. Podgear launched its HouseParty speaker system, a mini stereo speaker system featuring synchronization and charging functions for the entire iPod range. Finally FID produced the irock 5.1 theater sound USB headphones featuring six speakers, each in individual sound chambers which provide virtual surround sound.

Bible software for iPods allows listening and reading

Laridian Electronic Publishing has released iPocketBible, a text and MP3 audio solution for the iPod. While most MP3 Bibles provide audio only, iPocketBible supplements the audio with complete Bible tex. Professional narration is performed by Mike Kellogg, national radio host of Moody Broadcasting's "Music Thru The Night". Features include complete text of the New Living Testament (Old Testament and New Testament); thought for thought translation; a new translation from the original Greek and Hebrew manuscripts; complete MP3 audio for the New Living Testament; instant access to any book or chapter; a subject index; and links to audio from the Bible text. The text requires approximately 5MB of space for installation and can be played on any iPod with the "Notes" feature. Audio is in MP3 format and requires approximately 3GB of space for a complete installation; each portion can be installed seperately. iPocketBible ships on five MP3 CDs for $6.
