So, let's see. You could spend $200 on this thing, or for $100 more you get 30 gigs of storage and a bigger screen with an iPod. Sounds like a good deal to me...

So what if an awesome device does make it into the market that runs circles around the iPod, and they decide not to port it to the Mac?
I guess we'd have to install XP on our Intel Macs.
The reason Apple developed the iPod and iTunes in the first place is because nobody was addressing the mac market with a player compatible with macs. You have it backwards.
My aincient Rio500 even worked with my Mac.
Actually, they could VERY easily port their audio devices to the Mac, or at least provide functionality of their devices on the Mac - but *they* choose not to.
Apple's arrogance? No, you got it wrong. The arrogance is there, but in the WMV/iRiver camp.
Apple saw a market for a well designed music player for Macs or Windows.
