Zune player: real-world photo, new details

Every image so far of the Zune player has been a formal shot of the prototype; there has been little to suggest that Microsoft would keep the design or showcase the more practical features. Today, however, a photo appeared online showing the Zune in real-world circumstances. Though still labeled as a prototype, the Zune in the photo is largely unchanged from the publically sanctioned version seen earlier in the summer. The new photo also provides interesting new information about the player and its included earbuds. Microsoft is clearly prepared to offer the Zune in colors other than white, as previously confirmed, though the pictured example was given a dark color in an attempt to identify the sources of any leaks. The earbuds, in turn, are clearly meant to improve on the iPod's design by including magnets that keep the buds together while wrapping the cord. Click through to see the full photo.

If MS releases a product like this; apple will sue them silly, this knock-off iPod is going to be very expensive for MS.

Don't believe me, ask creative; they are currently sinking thier ship in Appleland...

MS should instead due what they do best...ie,, create virus infected software and waste the time of the dark side...

In typical form, they have managed to copy something and make it look uglier. The iPod has elegant good looks which makes it something that people would want to be seen with in public. I cannot say the same for that device.

Any blacberry users remember when they switched from the "pager" style to the larger screen versions? Remember how hard it was to type on because it was too top heavy?

I think this will suffer from the same issue.

Some universal remotes suffer from this same issue. buttons are too low on the device to use comfortably. Just speculation, but since the LCD will make it top heavy, it may be difficult to use with one hand.

Looked like shit in concept, looks 10x worse in real. Once released, this thing will receive a lawsuit so high up its ass that it'll make Steve Ballmers polished head shine!

What I don't see is a lawsuit. I don't think Apple holds the patent on making things look cool. (They just do it best).

What I do see is something that looks every other iPod knockoff to come and go. If that is the actual Zune image, Microsoft certainly has something to worry about.

With all that money and resources, can't they buy some taste? ( i ask rhetorically)
