iHome previews Nano speaker system

iHome today previewed its iHM1B, a compact speaker system intended for Apple's first-generation iPod nano. The cabinet-shaped design provides stereo sound while safeguarding the iPod's body against scratches, and the enclosure also gives easy access to the iPod's clickwheel and hold switch. SRS TruBass technology is built into the speakers to improve low-end frequency response, according to Electronista. The iHM1B is available only in black, and is scheduled to ship for $30 later in the fall; the status of a version designed for second-generation iPod nanos is unknown.
