Blackberry vs. iPhone
RIMM is developing a technology that will allow its Blackberry smartphones to transfer files wirelessly between the device and a PC which works like the company's BlackBerry Enterprise Server, according to one industry analyst. Gus Papageorgiou of Scotia Capital believes anyone who has an MP3 player and a mobile phone is a target for the new service, requiring that BlackBerry users install software on a PC to gain access to RIM's network operating center. That center provides a link to the BlackBerry itself, according to the analyst, and would allow users to organize digital media in a way similar to Apple's iTunes software.
The move could give RIMM a piece of Apple's iPod market share, as BlackBerry users would no longer need a portable music player to listen to their favorite tracks on-the-go. Globe and Mail Update reports that RIMM has made no announcements concerning the rumored technology, but the analyst insisted he has gathered information that points to a future move by RIMM.

There's no way

this could replace an iPod. You can't move movie-sized files back and forth with aclarity, especially with today's wireless technology. Even if RIMM gets a big jump, it won't be the same as having instant access to whatever media you could fit on an [ipod-sized] device. Well, I guess they have to do something to combat the only company with a true media all-in-one piece of hardware.

It's spelled RIM as in Research in Motion. Hard to take the article seriously when the companies name is not spelled right. It would be like spelling Apple with one less p.
