Briefly: iPod Classic, BizCard reviews

In brief: We have reviewed the iPod Classic, the BizCard reader, and the Bum Back Pack, OWC has lowered pricing on various RAM modules, a new tool for managing iTunes duplicates has debuted, and there's a new black backpack case for MacBook Pros ... We have posted a review of the iPod Classic, Apple's update to the veteran player that now sports massive storage capacities of 80GB and 160GB. We tested the 80GB model. Two changes are immediately noticeable when you handle the iPod classic. First, the front surface is no longer made of plastic or Lucite, but is anodized aluminum. It has an extremely durable feel, and may be more aesthetically appealing, plus seems like it is impossible to smudge the surface.

NewSoft BizCard reader reviewed

We have posted a review of BizCard Reader from NewSoft, which aims to help you organize those hundreds of business cards you collect at meetings and exhibitor-filled expositions and shows. The idea is to scan the cards, which breaks down the information into logical fields you can use to organize and store the cards digitally. The BizCard Reader is so light that the plugged in USB cable can move the whole unit across your desk.

Bum Back Pack reviewed

We've also posted a review of a BBP case that combines both a backpack and messenger pack into one unit that uses a convertible strap. The ergonomically designed bag lets you carry the weight in the pack much lower than you might expect, hence the manufacturer's name. BBP stands for "Bum Back Pack"), though that's a bit of a misnomer, as it's really placed on your lower back, not your butt.

OWC lowers price on iMac, MacBook RAM modules

Other World Computing (OWC) has lowered pricing on their 1.0GB-4.0GB Memory Modules and Memory Kits for Apple Intel iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini models. The OWC 2.0GB Memory Kit (two 1GB modules) is now priced at $70, OWC's 1.0GB Memory Modules are priced $35, 2.0GB Memory Modules at $100, and 4.0GB Kits (two 2.0GB Modules) at $200.00.
