Led Zeppelin coming to iTunes next month

Iconic rock band Led Zeppelin has announced plans to offer its music online beginning in mid-November. Starting November 13th, original Led Zeppelin tracks will be available via the iTunes Store for download either individually for $0.99 each or as complete albums, according to Macworld UK. The band's offerings due to launch on iTunes next month include Led Zeppelin; Led Zeppelin II; Led Zeppelin III, its untitled fourth album; Houses of the Holy; Physical Graffiti; Presence; The Song Remains the Same; In Through The Out Door; Coda; How The West Was Won; and Mothership. "We are pleased that the complete Led Zeppelin catalogue will now be available digitally," said band guitarist Jimmy Page. "The addition of the digital option will better enable fans to obtain our music in whichever manner that they prefer."

Led Zeppelin is one of the few remaining hugely successful rock bands to hold out on digital sales of its music, despite plummeting CD and DVD sales reported by the big four music labels.

The English rock band formed in September of 1968 with four members: John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant. Regarded by many as one of the first heavy metal bands, Led Zeppelin's guitar-heavy music is still held in high regard by many in the music industry as influential. The band's works reached an abrupt halt in 1980, however, after band member John Bonham passed away.

Led Zeppelin is the only band in history that managed to get all of its albums into the U.S. Billboard Top 10, and has sold more than 300 million albums globally with almost 110 million of those sales occurring in the U.S. alone.

"Zeppelin sucks @ss"

In your dreams beluga boy.

I cannot name one band today [that is not an older group that has been around a while like RHCP] that sells a lot of albums and is popular (ie, not including the small indie bands that no one has ever heard of) that plays their own music and can actually play live and has any degree of musicianship. Zep is awesome from a musical standpoint. Them and their birth brothers YES. Music today sucks.

This is good. Although I have most of Led Zep, I have never been able to find a CD of Song Remains the Same of decent quality...all I have is my own vinyl rip...of an album that was played waaaaay to often.

Arguably, Led Zeppelin is the best band ever. If you listen to LZ I, and compare it to what was being released at that time, it is amazing. Only artist that compares is Jimi Hendrix.

Just my 2 Cents

I think I can safely say that Led Zeppelin can't compare to the Back Street Boys! Sure, they don't play any instruments, but do you know how hard it is to sing AND dance at the same time?
