Speck debuts 36 Nano, Touch, Classic cases

Accessory maker Speck says it has debuted a full 36 new iPod cases, meant to fill out its holiday sales. These are split between seven different lines: the ToughSkin cases use "rubberized" bumpers and tear-resistant plastic, and come in clear or black colors. Versions are available for the Nano, Touch and Classic. The ArmorSkin cases use "chunkier" rubberized protection, but only on the sides and back; the front is guarded by a flexible, transparent cover. The same colors and iPod models are supported as with the ToughSkins.

The ActiveFit Armbands by contrast are available in gray and white, and only for the Nano and Classic. These are made of mesh with Velcro straps, also include built-in screen windows, as well as reflective material for night exercise.

The SeeThru series consists of hard, translucent plastic shells for the Nano and Touch, with screen protection where applicable. The Touch cases include a combination belt clip and stand; the Nano models have interchangeable smooth and belt clip plates. Nine different color options are present, such as pink, green and smoke, but these depend on the particular case desired.

Contrary to their names, the TechStyle-Classics are black leather cases for Nano and Touch iPods as well as the Classic. These have screen protectors where feasible, as well as touch-through clickwheel protection.

Wrapping up Speck's offerings are the PinStripe for the Touch, which has a snap-together case, a stand and a soft fabric exterior, and the TechStyle Puck, a hard-shelled Shuffle case that also has an interior cable holder for earbuds. Colors include black, green and pink. Check the Speck website for prices and further details.
