Creative ZEN Stone Plus 4G

Fulfilling predictions, Creative has begun shipping a 4GB version of the ZEN Stone Plus. The player has all the dimensions of the entry-level ZEN Stone but holds the same storage as many larger players. 1,000 typical songs fit on the device, Creative boasts. It also adds a feature absent from earlier models, supporting AAC songs (including those from iTunes Plus) in addition to MP3 and WMA. Battery life is the same at 12 hours.

Like the 2GB Plus, the player packs a small screen that lets users have basic track navigation as well as tune into FM radio or record voice with a built-in microphone. Creative follows its past habits and ships this high-end model only in a single color, selling the 4GB ZEN for $90. The player is already in stock at the company's US store and should already be enroute to retail shops.

    So far

Only place I see it so far is Creative's website, and Creative's own listings on eBay.

Wake me when it's actually for sale from other retailers and there have been some real hands-on reviews.

    I haven't tried it

Good article about the 4GB ZEN. In the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy my iPod.
