Apple unveils 'Now What' Get a Mac ad

Apple has unveiled another 'Get a Mac' ad featuring Justin Long and John Hodgman as 'Mac' and 'PC' titled 'Now What.' The new spot begins with the usual introductions, after which Hodgman brings light to the fact that large numbers of people are currently looking to purchase computers. Long agrees, but acts surprised when Hodgman introduces his new book titled 'I want to buy a computer, now what?' Following a short explanation of Apple Stores and the ease of purchasing the right Mac with the help of Apple's personal shoppers.

"You know Mac, there are a lot of people looking to buy computers nowadays," says Hodgman in his role of PC.

"Yeah, I know," Long says agreeably.



"There are so many questions and choices and you're all alone out there," PC says. "That's why I created my book: I want to buy a computer, now what?"

Mac appears somewhat surprised and also slightly concerned as he responds to PC's pitch: "Why are you talking like that?"



"Buying a computer isn't easy," PC insists.

Mac quickly responds to PC's claim: "Actually it's really easy at an Apple Store. You know they have personal shoppers to help you pick out the Mac that's right for you, there's even workshops for you after you buy your Mac."



Hodgman as PC quickly retorts, taking the opportunity to introduce his companion book.

"Yes, I've thought of that phase too and that's why I created my companion volume: I just bought a computer, now what?"



Apple share rising as Get a Mac ad campaign continues

Statistics from a recent Net Applications survey suggest Apple's Intel-based Macs garnered 3.59 percent market share online, while Mac OS X appealed to 3.22 percent of the market for a total of 6.81 percent market share. The company's iPhone also bested Windows CE for a .09 percent share of the online market, bringing Apple's total online market share to nearly 7 percent.

Another new Get a Mac ad titled 'Misprint' aired earlier this week, highlighting recent test results which found that a Mac laptop ran Windows Vista faster than competing devices.
