Synium offers Screenium, iFinance 2 preview

Synium recently unveiled a beta test for Screenium, its new motion screen-capture application, and also issued a beta for iFinance 2, an update to its personal financial management software. Screenium allows users to record their activities with full internal application and external source audio, enabling them to create video-based tutorials and "screencasts". Screenium captures all mouse movements, clicks, and drags, while also recording all application and operating system sounds. Users can also simultaneously record verbal instructions, so that they don't have to assemble everything in post production. Screenium is currently being offered as a preview version, but will be available for $20 when the app is finalized.

Screenium can help users automatically adjust video and audio compression for the intended distribution method. The quality and compression used depends on the destination source – such as a DVD or high definition video file, to internet streaming and email – and takes into consideration available hard drive space and bandwidth availability. Screenium records any audio information in a multichannel format, and can optimize projects for playback on portable media devices, such as iPods and smartphones.

iFinance is designed to offer users a simple, but comprehensive approach to finance management. The application manages a user's cash flow over multiple accounts, and includes an Inspector to assist with immediate access to transaction details. iFinance can track transactions from bank accounts, passbooks, and credit cards, as well as import data from CSV (comma separated values) files, which are issued by most banks through their web portals.

Colorful diagrams are used to visualize cash flow, all of which are completely customizable. iFinance can also project cash flow for the months following the current one, and shades them in a special manner on the diagrams so users can distinguish facts from projections. Synium is selling iFinance 2 for $20, with a free beta preview available for users anxious to try the software.
