Apple expands, renovates Cupertino campus [U]
Apple is reportedly expanding its Cupertino campus by taking possession of buildings abandoned by HP, and in some cases is knocking down the old structures to construct new ones. SetteB.IT reports that Apple is hiring new staff every week to fill the new areas of the campus, since Steve Jobs does not wish to move the headquarters outside of Cupertino. HP’s old buildings have painted-over signs, with addresses still written in HP’s typical company font; some signs have been finished, bearing the unmistakable grey logo.
In April 2006, Apple CEO Steve Jobs spoke with Cupertino City Council members, announcing the company's need to expand. "What's happened at Apple is that our business has basically tripled in the last five or six years," said Jobs at the meeting. "We've gone from $6 billion in sales to a $20 billion in sales. And what that's meant is that our headcount in Cupertino has dramatically expanded."
Because of its 30 year history in the city, Apple chose to stay in Cupertino. The new campus will be approximately a mile away from the current location at Infinite Loop.

Apple is a business jugernaut with trends pointing nowhere but up. WIth new spaces for work and development, this campus is going to be one of the most desirable places to work in the country.
Whoever said the Mac was dead?
Steve Jobs also has a vision, of a computing platform that would "change the world". However, he had no idea -- beyond "if you make it, they will come" -- of how to make his product ubiquitous.
Thankfully, Bill Gates showed Steve (the hard way) how to do that. The world has required that both of these individuals be present and bump heads for things to unfold in the way that they have.
