Macally unveils FlexTune
Macally today unveiled its FlexTune portable stereo system (site not updated) designed to support Apple's iPhone, iPod touch, and iPod classic. The FlexTune enables users to dock an iPhone or compatible iPod in either a horizontal or vertical orientation, improving the movie-watching experience for iPhone and iPod touch owners hoping to make the most of their larger screens. The silver and black casing encloses speakers with 1500mW power output per channel. The FlexTune is scheduled to ship at the end of February for $60.
Macally's FlexTune includes buttons for play, pause, next, previous, stop, and volume control. The device charges the iPhone or iPod when docked, and can automatically turn the device on or off when the iPod or iPhone is docked/undocked.
The FlexTune is powered by four 'AA' batteries or via an included AC adapter. The line-in jack enables users to play music from most other portable players, including Apple's iPod shuffle.

They must think consumers are stupid. Gee, 1500mw sure sounds more impressive than 1.5w per channel.

Yep. And you can bet that some people will think it means MEGAwatts rather than MILLIwatts.
By the same token, there are probably some folks who think that a milliwatt is more than a watt, rather than less.
