PhoneValet 1.1 boosts audio quality

Parliant has released the v1.1 update to PhoneValet Home Edition, its Mac telephony program. The program acts like a complex switchbox, screening telemarketers, announcing callers out loud, and playing unique ringtones. The program can also dial outgoing calls, and distribute incoming voicemail messages to individual people through e-mail. The last feature has been improved in v1.1, and now uses better compression for cleaner audio and smaller file sizes when listening on an iPhone or iPod touch.

For those who have not tried PhoneValet, the demo has been changed to function with or without a modem, which is required for the full version of the program. Lastly, the update addresses compatibility outside Canada and the US, making unspecified improvements. The software costs $50, and runs on Mac OS X 10.4.11 or higher.
