Launch2net offers worldwide 3G connectivity

Nova Media today unveiled Launch2net, an application designed to provide wireless data settings for over 400 networks in 157 countries. The software can use many Bluetooth, USB, PCMCIA, or ExpressCard connection methods to give mobile users internet access wherever they travel. Nova Media highlights the application for use with the MacBook Air, saying that it compliments the mobility of the device and the user's lifestyle. Launch2Net requires Mac OS X 10.4.3 Tiger or higher, while Leopard users are required to update to 10.5.1. The software is available for 75 euros, with an applicable VAT charge of approximately $110 US.

Launch2net's simplified interface offers users a Connect/Disconnect button, and supplies users with information on signal strength, transfer rates, traffic, and elapsed connection time. Nova Media also provides this functionality through a menu bar icon.

The price on this useful utility is way too high - need to be USD40 or 50 for me to buy.

So about half the current price

I have found it one of the most valuable purchases I have ever made and the price is not too high in my opinion. At first, I tried to configure my mobile at that time, to be able to use it as a modem, struggling with ignorant tech support at my carrier. Mac was terra incognita for them... Then I bought this and I have been using it, travelling around in Scandinavia and Europe and it is truly a Mac application - plug and play and no hassle at all! Believe me, if you´re travelling a lot and have work to do, this is the best investment you could do - and they don´t pay me for saying this, either - I am just that satisfied:)
