Creative fights iPod with $150 ZEN

Creative ZEN at 150

Creative has begun aggressive steps to fight against the iPod nano and other low-cost flash players by offering major discounts for all low-end versions of its ZEN media player. The company has dropped the price of its more popular 8GB ZEN to $150, bringing it to the same price as the 4GB Apple player despite the added storage, a larger 2.5-inch screen, and potential expansion through an SD card slot. Other, smaller players have dropped to prices of $80 for a 2GB model and $100 for a 4GB version, which differ only in storage.

The company has not officially announced the drops but has effectively timed the release to coincide with a recent iPod shuffle price drop, which placed a 2GB edition of the screenless iPod just $9 above the price of the recently introduced ZEN Stone with Speaker. The move also potentially clears a path for the now expected ZEN Share, which would add Wi-Fi for player-to-player music swaps.

    whinnnnnne!

I wonder if all 3 of the people who bought Creative MP3 players last week, are going to b**** about the price drop like people did when the iPhone dropped in price by $200.

I want to buy one ;-)

I like the price and the features of this Zen. I heard from some websites that it sound better than iPod. Although, nothing compare to the convenience of syncing music and movies via iTunes and iPod but when compare the price and features with iPod, I have to go with Zen. I want Creative to capture 50% of marketshare, so by then Apple will have to include FM tuner and recording function to iPod ;-)

    IPud's suck.

Let see what to Ipud's lach.

    1. FM Radio (Poeple still use it) 2. Innovation (Maybe 3-4 years ago they did) Yes yes the ITouch and the IPhone have a touch screen and the interface is slick, but it's nothing new. People have been trying touch screens for years. Apple just have the legions of Isheep to guy it. What would be cool is if the allowed other cell phone makers to have the iphone os on there hardware. 3. Expansion slot. 4. Crappy headphones. 32 Gig Ipod Touch = 499 but has 5 dollar ear phones? Huh? 5. Lach of bluetooth. I bet apple could make a really slick set of bluetooth head phones if they wanted to. I now the Isheep would be cashing in there first born to get them. 6. Itunes is bloated. It's in real need of a make over.

Anyway that's my two cents. Alright ISheep let's have it.

i am sorry, but it is hard to reply to something you can't even understand. please, next time, attempt a coherent sentence.

(see, this is exactly why Bush as president is a problem. it would seem he is a role model to others who can't communicate...)
