Steve Jobs' cancer a secret for nine months
Steve Jobs reportedly held on to the news about his pancreatic cancer for approximately nine months, before having corrective surgery and announcing the news to the world. According to CNN Money, Jobs attempted to solve the issue by maintaining a special diet, hoping to avoid surgery altogether. The news weighed heavily on Apple's board, which remained quiet at the advice of its lawyers.
Even after the tumor was removed, both Apple and Jobs remained quiet on details regarding how long he had been sick, or that he put off surgery based on his personal beliefs. When jobs had finally come forth with the surgery and sickness, Apple's stock only dropped by 2.4-percent. The stock might have suffered more, had everyone been aware of Jobs' condition, since he is largely viewed as irreplaceable.
" We all really care about Steve, and it was a serious risk for the company as well. It was a very emotional and very difficult time. This was one page in the adventure," said an anonymous source that was close to the situation.

jobs is one of the great people in business that loves what they do and loves their fanbase more. i was never an apple fan 3 years ago but i brought an g5 imac for some music creation and since then i have had 4 macs. 2 notebooks and 2 imacs and i love them.
Positive reinforcement - that's what it's all about!

Just FEI (for everyone's info)...
This wouldn't be news either...but good one!
There's just a tad bit of difference between Jobs keeping a secret about the next computer configuration and his personal health. Just a small difference between life threatening cancer and the music labels pissing people off.
Stunning that the comparison was even made.
