WireFusion 5 available for Mac, OpenGL compatible

Demicron recently announced support for the Mac platform by unveiling WireFusion 5 for Mac, its architectural and industrial design software for small and medium sized design firms. According to Architosh,WireFusion allows designers to create realtime 3D visualizations using content imported from Maya, Lightwave 3D or any other application that can export to VRML or X3D file formats. WireFusion 5 is available for $1500 for a standard professional license.

Version 5 introduces 3D mesh optimization for polygon reduction and repair, and has been substantially rewritten for faster performance and OpenGL hardware acceleration.

While I'm sure Wire Fusion is great for Architects and industrial designers, I love it just for allowing me to post awesome interactive realtime 3D on the web. To me, its a true Flash repleacement. One example is a little easter egg movie player I made for my friends and family

With Wire Fusion I was able whip this out in a very short amount of time. Its quite cool. So if your wanting to do some awesome 3D on your website without users having to download big custom plugins. . . Wire Fusion is the way to go.
