Salesforce switching over to Macs?
Salesforce, a major corporation responsible for developing CRM software and related products, may be on the verge of a switching all of its computers from PCs to the Mac platform, an unidentified source claims. The company is currently said to have an agreement with Dell, but as licenses expire, its IT department is allegedly planning to replace each PC with a new Mac. The reason for this is security, as the company is said to favor the extra expense of buying Macs over the even greater costs it is paying to safeguard Windows systems. Some 4,000 computers would have to be replaced.
Salesforce is known, however, to already have a fairly close relationship with Apple, as it was an early corporate adopter of the iPhone, and it was brought on-stage at Apple's recent iPhone SDK event. The company is currently developing a native iPhone version of its CRM software.

It's not just about the hardware cost yet that's all you hear about from the PC cult.
Once a company codes for the iPhone, I imagine it's very easy to go backwards and create rich applications for Mac OS X.

...about this just being a bargaining chip. I've been using Saleforce.com (free edition) for my business and talked to their support about how I liked their product because, as a web-based product-it works just as well on a Mac. The tech I talked to said their CEO is a Mac user and is always pushing for better Mac support. Anecdotal, I know, but may be something...
