Cover Stream 2.0: iTunes Cover Flow for the desktop
Snarb.tk has released Cover Stream 2.0, an update to its iTunes controller that extends iTunes Cover Flow to the desktop. The upgrade features new graphics, a playlist and search filter, an integrated songs browser, Last FM and Apple Remote support, full screen mode, Apple-flavored bezels, desktop artwork, and much more. Cover Stream, a popular iTunes controller, was developed exclusively for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, extending iTunes Cover Flow to the desktop and giving users a quick and convenient way to control, browse and search their music library.
According to the developer, Cover Stream 2.0 brings many new features and improvements, including a new icon and exquisite graphics and better performance with 75 percent less memory utilization and faster sync with iTunes. Among the other new features are a convenient and uncluttered playlist filter, accessible right from the window title bar, and a search-as-you-type filter.
The flipping window has been replaced by a seamlessly integrated songs browser, letting users pick a track from a favorite album or playlist without even leaving the Cover Flow. In addition, version 2.0 also adds a convenient info bar, featuring Now Playing details and track progress, Apple-flavored bezels, desktop artwork, an improved menu bar item with player controls and antialiased artwork, scrolling text notifications, an extended dock menu, and more.
Cover Stream requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later and iTunes 7.5 or later and costs 15€.
