First Vancouver Apple Store set to open May 24th
The first Apple Store in the Canadian city of Vancouver, or its home province of British Columbia, is scheduled to open this Saturday, May 24th. The store is located at 701 West Georgia Street within the Pacific Centre Mall, and on its opening day, will operate from 10AM to 7PM. Sunday hours are 11AM to 6PM; Monday and Tuesday return to the Saturday schedule, but Wednesday throguh Friday, the store will be open until 9PM.
As at the Brandon, Florida location opening on the same day, standard services will be available. Of note though is that Pacific Centre visitors are encouraged to "learn the basics of Apple TV, iPhone or the Mac at a free Getting Started workshop," despite the fact that the iPhone is not currently sold in the Canada. It is however due on Rogers by the end of the year, possibly as soon as June.

Woohoo!
Yet it will have one old eMac and a couple of 2G iPods. You know how Apple treats Canada.
re: Woohoo!
Ah, I think you are optimistic. Generally why I get my stuff from the resellers, not that they have great stuff either.
I know I won't be going to the Apple store any time soon. Can't stand the downtown core. Too much traffic, expensive parking, crowded, noisy, etc. And they call it one of the most livable cities in the world.
Bahhh
Can't wait! I got the email last night, im going to get in line for that t-shirt! I hope they get the iPhone fast, that'll be my first purchase there for sure.
Gor3don, i'll see you at the opening, or not. You'd rather drive to Burnaby/Surrey/Richmond for a Apple reseller?
It's about time :)
It's about time Vancouver finally gets an official Apple store. I missed the one in Toronto and when I visit Seattle and San Francisco. I just hope we also get the option like our USA neighbors for reasonable financing on products such as the iMac and MacBook line. Going through Simple Computing is costing me big time with their high interest rate 28.80% credit line which is through HSBC.

Hope you get that t-shirt too. Like I said, if I didn't have such an aversion to downtown, I'd be right there with you. But just maybe, I might pop down to check it out.
Richmond, perhaps, as I live by the bridge. But I get most of my stuff online.
