iTunes 7.7 released

Apple this morning has released iTunes 7.7, the latest version of its media organization and sync software. The new version is designed to sync music, video, and more with iPhone 3G as well as download applications from the iTunes Store exclusively designed for iPhone and iPod touch with software version 2.0 or later; Apple's documentation notes a "new Remote application for iPhone or iPod touch to control iTunes playback from anywhere in your home — a free download from the App Store." The software is a 50MB download from Mac OS X Software Update or available via the Web.

Update: It has been revealed that in addition to adding the App Store to users' iTunes lists, dozens of countries have been added to the region selector at the bottom of the home page. Going to a country where the iTunes Music Store is not present yields a direct link the the App Store in that country.

    Can't find Touch Fighter

I've loaded up on applications for my iPod Touch before the masses get online and bog down the store. But I can't find Touch Fighter anywhere. Perhaps it's delayed in the Canadian iTunes store.

Still, with fourteen great apps in my pipe, I'm not lacking things to try out when the new firmware is released. Enigmo, Epocrates Rx, IGN Game Reviews, iRSS, Netter's Anatomy, Starmap, Super Monkey Ball, and more.

Way more exciting than when I got my PlayStation 3 last month. I'm a super-nerd though.
