Yamaha launches iPod dock

Yamaha has launched the YDS-11SL iPod dock, which allows users to play the digital music stored on their iPods via their home theater system. The dock is made to connect to Yamaha's receivers as well as the company's YSP-3050 speaker bar, providing full control via the home theater electronics maker's remote. The iPod screen comes up on users' video displays via Yamaha's On-Screen Display visual interface.

The YDS-11SL dock is compatible with the iPod touch, nano, mini and click-wheel iPods, including classic, and will charge their batteries during playback. Videos from the devices can also be played on TVs connected to the Yamaha receiver. The dock connects to select Yamaha receivers via a single dedicated cable, eliminating clutter.

The dock is available now on Yamaha's online store and in retailers, priced at nearly $100.

    Connection?

This looks like it could be a decent dock.

I checked the Yamaha site and there's NO information about what type of output jack is on the thing. One would assume, coming from a mid-fi company like Yamaha, that it would use RCA jacks.

I tried to download the owner's manual and was prompted to create a user account.

This looks like it could be a decent dock. it would be nice to use with equipment other than Yamaha's mid-fi gear.
