MobileMe fully-functional?
Apple's beleaguered MobileMe service should now be fully operational, according to a status update. Following almost three weeks of difficulties, the company says it has resolved the vast majority of Mail issues, in particular webmail and message history issues that have persisted for 1 percent of MobileMe subscribers. Despite this a chatline has been established solely for people who may still be coping with e-mail problems.
Apple notes that an unrelated bug appeared briefly on Monday, causing contact and calendar sync to break when connecting over-the-air from an iPhone or iPod touch. In some cases the affected data disappeared from handhelds entirely, despite it remaining online and on computers. The bug has since been fixed, though some people may need to reboot their device, turn contact and calendar syncing off, then turn it back on again.

It is fully functional, but they have a chat line for those still with problems?

I've done support, there is always someone who it doesn't work for whether it works or not.

Messages that I've deleted in the last few days on my desktop with Mail.app are still present on the web MobileMe.

Apple is so full of S***. Every single time they have issues with .mac/mobileMe it only affects 1%?? Then why is it that I'm ALWAYS affected?

Whatever it means ...

... to be "fully functional". What I can say is that the PC to MobileMe synchronization of contacts is still flawed and the calendar doesn't work at all. Two major pieces of my business case for an iPhone. Add a totally non-responsive hotline, and you're there. Being an ex-PC user I'm starting to ask myself what's worse ... Microsoft stuff knowingly not working or Apple stuff claimed to work but don't?

I have not had any problem. I am a .mac transferee, and the system works fine.
The website was very slow for the first few days.
Also, it shows tasks, and the tasks do get nicely synched to the computer (I am using entourage and contacts, etc. sync fine).
Still, would love to sync tasks to the iPhone.

It's not fully functional. Why does it take hours for my contacts to be synced to my iPhone?

Mobileme was rough the first week, but once it was up everything was fine with the exception of Contacts. Even when typing an email address there was no auto complete like in webmail.mac.com. But that soon worked and so did the contact list.
NOW after this so called "fully functional" status, its back to the way it was the first couple of days!
Plus not to mention all that spam I received in the past couple of days!

It Does Work

I don't mean to be a jerk, but MobileMe has worked for me so the percentage is somewhere between 1% and 100%. I did have problems accessing the Web site for the first couple days, but once I got in I haven't had any other real problems.
I forward some important mail to my .mac address and my phone chirps when it receives it. It usually chirps before the mail even appears in my desktop client.
If I create an event in iCal and choose "Sync Now" the event shows up on the phone in about a minute. If I don't do a manual sync then it takes up to fifteen minutes.
Overall, I think this is one of the more impressive aspects of the iPhone 2.0 software. It's a shame that server issues caused so many people to have problems. Hopefully from here on out it will work okay for everyone.
