ColorWare offers custom colored iPhone 3G
ColorWare recently announced it is now offering custom-colored finishes for the iPhone 3G, either on a brand-new model, or a user's existing device. ColorWare boasts a scratch-resistant, UV-hardened finish, with a selection of 35 solid or metallic colors. Coloring can be applied to the back, chrome frame, home button, SIM card tray, earbuds, and dock. Any combination of colors – whether complimentary or contrasting – can be applied to the device, starting at $150.
Colorware offers a professional dismantling, storage, and finishing service, with verifications performed on users' existing hardware before any colorization is done. The company notes that any future warranty service done on the device is through ColorWare, rather than Apple, since modifications to the default hardware likely voids the manufacturer's warranty.

anyone ever bought one?
I travel, a lot, yet I have never ever seen a colorware product. Ever. Has anyone ever bought one? I'd like to know what the quality is like.
Better than White 3G
The white iPhone 3G (IMO, of course) looks crappy since the color is relegated to the back--where it will never be seen once a case is on it. Since it doesn't appear anywhere else on the phone the white model just looked cheap to me. Coloring the bezel looks a lot better.
