Lines awaiting Poland iPhone just paid actors
A Polish carrier of the iPhone is faking interest to attract publicity, says Reuters. Although enormous American interest in the iPhone has resulted in long lines, the Polish division of Orange is said to be using reverse logic, intentionally staging lines in front of its stores in order to attract people for Friday's iPhone 3G launch. Instead of genuine customers, the people in line are actually actors, hired as part of a promotional campaign.
"We have these fake queues at front of 20 stores around the country to drum up interest in the iPhone," claims a company representative. No lines have been observed in front of T-Mobile stores, which also will be selling the iPhone. People may be deterred by the high prices announced by carriers.

stupid
I don't know about Poles, but when I see a long line for something, it makes me delay the purchase until the madness dies down or order online and wait. Seems like this will make them lose a significant number of sales and piss people off needlessly.
whoo boy!
Too easy. I am soooo not going there. ;)
In Soviet era Poland...
The iPhone lines up to buy you!
Re: whoo boy!
I'll go there, then.
"Poles are stupid!"
"How stupid are they!"
"They're so stupid, they need to be paid to stand in line for an iPhone!"
"OMG! That's so stupid! In America, people will stand in line for free, for hours, if not days, ahead of time, to buy a product they could get by just walking in a day later!"
Oh, wait. I forgot. Which group was I supposed to be making fun of....
