DLO outs HomeDock HD Pro with HDMI
Philips' accessory label DLO today introduced a new high-end iPod integration kit for home theaters. The HomeDock HD Pro is tailored to the same custom home theater audience as the earlier HomeDock Pro but adds HDMI with upscaling, which both allows a high-resolution widescreen interface for playing media from a docked iPod but also full upscaling to either 720p or 1080i. An RS-232 port joins the dock to a home automation system while an IR port
The peripheral also has an HDMI pass-through port for other devices and supplies component video out, separate optical audio, and a USB port for linking the dock to a computer. DLO gives a generic fall release date for the HomeDock Pro but anticipates a selling price of $399 for the final product.
