iTunes U adds PBS' Presidential Biographies series

iTunes gets DVS videos
The iTunes U section of the iTunes Store is now featuring the PBS American Experience Presidential biographies as free educational downloads. The six Presidents highlighted include Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan, with over 23 hours of documentary video.
The Roosevelt biographies (in two parts) feature a Descriptive Video Service (DVS) track, which aids people with limited vision, by inserting narration of key visual elements during pauses in dialog. All 11 episodes have standard closed-captioning available. The Presidential programming can be found under the WGBH section of iTunes U.
