Kensington for iPod iPhone

Kensington has unveiled several new products for iPod and iPhone users, including the 4-Port USB Charger and Media Sharing Cable, as well as dash, windshield and power-port vehicle mounts. The charger plugs into a wall outlet, and offers four ports for any devices that accept power from USB. The Media Sharing Cable allows two computers to directly share content without using flash drives, including Macs and PCs.

The Power Port Mount anchors into a vehicle's power outlet, stabilizing the holder. Adjustable legs and side clamps can be configured to securely hold an iPhone, iPod, or another small device. A flexible arm allows for a wide range of positions, and the head can be swiveled for horizontal or vertical orientation.

The Dash Mount omits the flexible arm, and attaches inside a car with an adhesive pad. A Windshield Mount features the same arm and configurations as the Power Port Mount, but with a suction attachment for smooth surfaces.

The products are currently available for pre-order from Kensington, and should be available at retailers by the end of the month. The 4-Port USB Charger will cost $30, the Media Sharing Cable $60, and each vehicle mount $30.

I wish that power port mount had a dock to provide power while connected. 15 years ago I had a cell phone mount in my car that had a dock so that the one motion of sliding the phone into the mount also connected the device to power and even the hands free connection.
