iPod touch voted Gadget of the Year
Apple has, for the second time this month, won "Gadget of the Year" in a British awards competition. T3's second-annual T3 Gadget Awards ceremony was held on Thursday evening, and included awards chosen by both readers and T3. Readers cast over 54,000 votes to pick 11 of the prizes, which included the Gadget of the Year award, won by Apple's iPod touch.
The touchscreen iPod was up against the ASUS Eee PC and TomTom's GO 920, along with seven other devices, but came out on top thanks to its "sterling music features, plus web and e-mail gubbins." Apple also received three other awards: Best Commuter Gadget (iPhone), Best Music Gadget (iPod touch) and The Gadget Candy Award (MacBook Air).

Those Zany Brits...
The heck's a "gubbin"?
Not Deserved
Apple didn't deserve this win. The iPod touch is so crippled it isn't worth touching until it gets a camera that can do video and bluetooth that'll handle keyboards and synching with a nearby Mac. Neither would cost that much.
At Apple, the iPod touch execs seem to have a singularly impoverished imagination. They're gone halfway to a clever laptop in your pocket, but stopped at the silliest of places.
...Inkling
Oh give me a break! Name one platform that even comes close to the iPod touch in terms of features and flexibility. "Crippled" is a stupid comment!
Maybe they haven't included every feature you want but the platform continues to grow and compared to everything else it is amazing. What have you ever produced?
