Apple addresses glass trackpad issues via updates
Apple has released a software update that is designed to fix the glass trackpad problems with the new aluminum MacBooks and MacBook Pros. Owners had reported that the device would occasionally fail to recognize the click input. After downloading the update through the Software Update feature, the computer should be connected to the AC power source before executing the program. The company has not provided any details regarding the nature of the problem, but claims that the update addresses the issue.
The glass trackpad was one of the highlighted features of the new devices. The removal of a dedicated button increased the navigable surface by 39 percent, while allowing users to customize one or two button configurations with specific click zones.
As with many first-run products, some malfunctions are difficult to catch before the products hit the market. Customers began reporting problems with the trackpads shortly after receiving their new notebooks. Apple has been publicly quiet about the issue, but privately acknowledged that the matter was being investigated. Not all of the MacBooks were affected, although the extent of the problem is unknown.

updates ok, clicks better
Update ran fine, and the clicker is now behaving much better than before.
Not snappier, but clickier.
uh-oh
Now that Apple has released this update, it only proves they sent out defective laptops with defective clicking capabilities!
With such confirmation, lawsuits are soon to be coming!
Aaaarg!
I get this message, "The Firmware update did not complete. Communication with the device failed."
That's what I got earlier today and what I still get now.
So was this version 2 as the article seems to imply there are 2 fixes?
