OrbLive 2.0 unlocks media files for iPhone

Orb Networks on Thursday launched OrbLive 2.0, the latest version of its media application for the iPhone 3G and iPod touch. The original version was created before the App Store was opened, and required users to jailbreak their phones. The new (official) app allows the mobile devices to access media that is available on a home PC, including videos, music, live television and webcams. OrbLive works via any available data network, such as WiFi and 2G or 3G connections.

OrbLive 2.0 is available from the App Store, as a fully capable download for $10 or a free trial that is limited to playing three random titles of each media type.

Whether the free or paid version, the App author states this is for PC only, and "A Mac version" will come in the future. Seriously! Another iPod app that won't work on a Mac. Just fracking unbelievable. It shouldn't even be in the app store. C'mon Apple, what the he'll is wrong with you guys?

Um, I'm a Mac, and most people are Still a PC.

Sorry, but as popular as Mac's have become, their still (roughly) not quite 10% of the market. If I am going to develop complicated software and test market viability, I will do it PC only.

Most of my friends that have iPhones use PC's, and although you will possibly see a higher percentage of mac users among the sub group of iPhone users, it is still not significant.

Get over it-- we sleep better at night knowing our computers are a little more secure.
