Shark LT handles 2D and 3D CAD work

Punch! Software is now shipping Shark LT, a professional-level CAD application. The software is aimed mainly at generating 3D models, but is also used to produce related 2D drawings, which can be generated automatically for items such as section and detail views. These can then be imported into apps more suited to 2D editing, such as Illustrator.

3D tools in the package include the likes of lofts, blends, shells and sweeps, as well as distinguishing options such as "bend along curve." ISO and ANSI measurement standards are supported, and aside from Illustrator, available format types include DXF, IGES, OBJ, SAT and the popular DWG used in AutoCAD. Licenses for Shark LT typically start at $495, but upgrades are available from Punch's ViaCAD and TurboCAD suites.
