QuickPWN 2.2 jailbreaks new iPhone v2.2

Just days after Apple released its iPhone 2.2 Software update, it has been jailbroken by QuickPWN.com's developer team. QuickPWN has released QuickPWN 2.2 for both Mac and Windows users, free to download from the website. The software allows users to jailbreak the iPhone or iPod touch updated to the latest v2.2.

Apple has fought a constant battle against jailbreaking with each software update, attempting to protect AT&T from loosing customers to competitors on similar networks.

The newest version iPhone 2.2 update typically broke the most recent jailbreak when it was released Thursday; now it too can be broken. Jailbroken iPhones can be used on other networks like T-Mobile in the US. Other advantages of jail-broken phone are added customizations, tethering the iPhone to a notebook as a modem and adding operating system enhancements.

Ok, so someone hosts the binaries at the website quickpwn.com... nice, but it's still the Dev-Team that creates the software. Right?

blog.iphone-dev.org

And the links to the software over at quickpwn.com are NOT the officieal ones - those are available via Torrent files from the dev-team. There is even no SHA1 Sum, as there Should be.

Jailbroken phones can't be used on other networks. The 3G phone is stlll not unlocked yet by the dev team. Serious misunderstanding in the article.

A jailbroken phone just allows unsanctioned apps (not distributed through the app store) to be run on the phones.

Slow, buggy, less battery

I found the latest jailbreak to result in three things: more crashing, far less battery, and slow features and functions. I reported this elsewhere and my post was removed and I found my account closed. Will that happen here? (I wouldn't be surprised, these hackers seem to have great influence.)
