ReaddleDocs 1.2 brings in network file server
Readdle has posted a v1.2 update to ReaddleDocs, its file management app for iPhones and iPod touches. The software lets people copy files to a handheld from numerous sources, such as Mac, Windows and Linux systems, and WebDAV-enabled online backup services such as MobileMe's iDisk. Users also have access to a built-in web browser, along with a document viewer.
The v1.2 release introduces a network file server, which allows iPhones and iPods to operate as a network drive when connected to a Mac running Mac OS X 10.4.x, or a PC running Windows XP or Vista. This also enables transfers between handhelds, though all forms of network drive transfer require a Wi-Fi connection.
Other changes to the app include a better WebDAV client, with improved support of Box.Net and GMX MediaCenter, plus an option to automatically load the last viewed document. ReaddleDocs is available from the App Store for $10.
