iLuv preps iPhone dual dock with weather

iLuv made its presence felt for CES today by launching the iMM183, its latest take on iPhone and iPod speaker docks. The new model supersedes the earlier iMM173 and chiefly adds support for weather text alerts from NOAA and SAME that automatically come through on preset radio channels; the feature lets users archive as many as 10 notices for ongoing situations and has an LED warning to catch the owner's eye when a new alert is available.

As with its predecessor, the iMM183 can charge as many as two iPods (or one iPhone and one iPod) at once and can play from either, including for the built-in alarm clock. An FM radio and an aux-in jack supply audio from other sources on the 6W stereo, which can sync its time directly with most Apple devices.

The dock works with fourth-generation or later dockable iPods as well as all iPhones and should be available in March at an as-yet undetermined price.
