KAC ballistics app

Knight's Armament has released BulletFlight, a ballistic calculation app for the iPhone and iPod touch. The program processes information such as the ballistic coefficient of the bullet, specific rifle, angle to the target and range. Environmental factors including temperature, humidity, altitude, barometric pressure and wind speed are also factored into the trajectory. The target angle is automatically determined using the accelerometer if the iPod or iPhone is mounted to the weapon.

Rather than providing the calculated information on a table or simply listing the bullet drop, BulletFlight relates the bullet path with the MOA adjustment for each scope. After entering a new range, the app indicates the exact number of windage and elevation clicks to align the crosshairs.

Profiles are included for several of KAC's precision rifles including the Army's semi-automatic M110, the 14.5-inch SR16 and the KAC PDW, along with a few different types of ammunition and bullet grain weights. Users can also alter the profiles or create new entries.

BulletFlight is now available from the App Store for $12.
