iRock launched for iPhone

Mark's Recording Studio has launched iRock 1.0, an app for the iPhone that converts it into a guitar amplifier. The app includes six amplifier simulations combined with five cabinet emulators. It has hi, low and mid tone controls along with gain and drive control. iRock supports recording performances and can playback the recording. It also contains a file server for downloading recorded performances.

iRock has a built-in audience to perform to, much like a laugh-track on TV. It can record singing, through a microphone-enabled headset, guitar and other A/V capable instruments.

The iPhone will support playback over a set of speakers when used in a dock with a line out. iRock adjusts delay, tempo, LFO and feedback and supports presets. The new app requires an iPhone or iPod touch and ver2.2 software. It is now available for $17 on the iTunes App Store.
