Prey for iPhone
MachineWorks Northwest has developed an iPhone version of the Human Head game Prey, according to IGN. Published by Hands-On Mobile and based off of the Xbox 360 version, Prey is a first-person shooter that follows Tommy, a Cherokee who must rescue Earth and his girlfriend after an alien invasion. The iPhone game starts with Tommy crash-landing in a canyon covered in ancient writings. Equipped with only a wrench by default, Tommy must kill the aliens around him to secure better weapons.
Arms include a variety of energy guns, and items like an organic grenade. If players die they enter the spirit realm, where they must slay a number of spirits in order to return to their bodies. A less dangerous form of spirit walking aids in solving in navigational puzzles.
In order to offer the movement capabilities needed for a first-person shooter, the game provides on-screen controls. Four bars are used to control where Tommy looks and moves, and can be placed anywhere onscreen to suit preference. Also displayed are buttons for attacking, changing weapons and engaging in spirit walking.
No specific date has been given for Prey's release, but it should be ready at the App Store within the next few weeks.
