Creative MovieWorks HD

Without any formal announcement, Creative has introduced the MovieWorks HD iPod dock as part of the product lineup from its subsidiary, Cambridge Soundworks. The device allows iPod video to be played on an HDTV or audio receiver via HDMI, where movies can then be upscaled to 1080i. The system also supports 5.1-channel DTS surround sound from an iPod when using a compatible receiver.

Audio signals can be processed with Creative's Xi-Fi Xtreme Fidelity, Crystallizer and CMSS-3D technology. Crystallizer is designed to enhance the detail of compressed music, while CMSS-3D converts the stereo signal into multi-channel DTS surround.

The package includes a remote for navigating the iPod menus through the TV screen. Customers can also purchase an optional wireless receiver that can distribute music throughout a home.

The MovieWorks HD can be purchased for $250 and is available directly from Cambridge Soundworks. [via Engadget and epiZENter]
