beaTunes 2.0 launched

tagtraum has announced beaTunes 2.0, an update of its iTunes library management utility with music key detection, better memory efficiency, and the ability to work with very large libraries. beaTunes analyzes libraries, fixing missing or existing information in order to generate better playlists; the app can also locate artist and title data for tracks without clear identifiers.

Other features of the new version include a completely rewritten database, and a second BPM detection algorithm. New inspections for compilations, duplicates, rare genres and different ratings have been added, along with support for sorting names. beaTunes 2.0 requires Mac OS X 10.4.1, 1GB of RAM, iTunes 8.0.2 and the latest version of Java for Mac. It is currently available for $32.
