Sony EX earbud headphones

Sony late on Monday announced it has added four new earbud headphones to its EX series, with the flagship MDR-EX500LP and MDR-EX300LP headphones as well as the lowest-cost EX earbuds to date, the MDR-EX33LP and MDR-EX35LP. All ship with three removable hybrid silicone rubber tips in three sizes to allow users to fit the earbuds into their ear canals. These work together with a more rigid internal silicone ring than before to exclude ambient sound.

The MDR-EX300 model has a new 13.5mm driver with neodymium magnet in each earbud; the MDR-EX500LP earphones add metal construction to minimize vibration and have a multiple-layer diaphragm for more balanced and clearer audio reproduction. Either is available in black or white, and ship with carrying cases. The EX300s have an $80 sticker price, while the EX500s are priced at $130.

The much more affordable MDR-EX33LP put a bigger emphasis on style over performance, with the MDR-EX33LPs available in light metallic shades of blue, green, pink, silver, white and gold. The MDR-EX35LP model is available in two-toned color combos including violet and blue, blue and red, red and green and green and violet.

All new headphones are now available on Sony's website and at retailers.

EX-300

I have the EX-300sp and I absolutely LOVE them. They are an order of magnitude better than the EX-70s and EX-71s I've been using for years.

They are much, much louder, with clearer bass, treble, midtones and overall definition.

But I don't know who on Earth would prefer the "LP" cord over the "SP". That's one of the main reasons I chose Sony again this time instead of Ultimate Ears.

Cord?

What do you mean about the cords? I have (and really like) the EX-71s, but I find the cord a little short (so then I have to use the extension cord that is much longer than I need and adds extra weight--the extra connector not the cord itself). So I was curious what you meant by the LP and SP cord.
