CBS NCAA app for iPhone
CBS is taking a different approach to streaming NCAA March Madness games on the iPhone versus the web, a new App Store release reveals. While users can stream all of the games for free from the CBS Sports website -- at the expense of advertising -- the network's NCAA app for the iPhone and iPod touch costs $5. Users do however gain similar access, with live video and audio content.
The app is also capable of displaying statistics and real-time scores over top of video, as well as separate previews and bracket listings. Streaming is optimized only for Wi-Fi access however, limiting the utility of the app for iPhone owners. Completed Final Four games can be downloaded a day later from iTunes for $1.99 each.

It would be cool if my iPhone had Wi-Fi access. Maybe the next rev.

Maybe he is like me, no wi fi at work due to network security measures. Would be awesome to have wi fi here.

It is of 'limited' utility for iPhone owners as they can't use their data connection, so they are limited to find someplace that they can connect via wifi.

why make iphone users pay

$5 for something that is free on your laptop. Makes little sense to me. I have interest in this or any other app that charges a premium for something that is free.
