PhoneCam ($2) allows users to use turn their iPhone into a wireless webcam. Users can capture images with their phone and then transfer them directly to a website whenever an active internet connection is available. Users can upload their images manually or they can be set to automatically update at predefined time intervals. Users also have to option of capturing images manually or using a timer that can be set as frequent as every five seconds.
In a question-and-answer session following the main iPhone 3.0 announcement, Apple has revealed several facts relating to the new firmware. It will for instance become available in the summer for both iPhones and iPod touches, though as in the past, Touch owners will have to pay $10 to upgrade. Apple has typically blamed accounting rules for the cost of significant Touch software changes.
Skorpiostech in collaboration with Dragon Forged Software, has released Transactions, an application that enables people to make credit card payments through their iPhone and iPod touch. Transaction works with two payment gateways, PayPal and Authorize.net, which requires users to have an account in order to use. Features allow people to charge credit cards wherever an internet connection is available, to view a transaction log that can be exported to a home or work computer, password protection settings, and the use of Apples Keychain to secure confidential information.
