iPhone apps: Disneyland, BetterBrain, NotePrinter

XBMC, iNetMania


  • Disneyland Park Planner ($3) features a custom-drawn map of Disney land that is GPS-enabled allowing users to see their current location and nearby attractions in the park. The application also highlights attractions on a user's personal to-visit list, with color-coded wait times for certain attractions based on information provided by other users. In addition, one can view thumbnail photos, locations, descriptions, FASTPASS availability and height restrictions for all attractions.

  • BetterBrain ($3) is a memory task where users have to memorize both audio and visual events simultaneously. The challenge is supposed to help sharpen fluid intelligence which is related to ones ability to reason and solve problems. BetterBrain features adaptive difficulty control that automatically increases or decreases the difficulty level based on the users results.

  • NotePrinter ($1) allows users to write notes that include embedded images. Users can also organize the notes into different categories, format the text, print notes and email or transfer them to a computer. The application also features copy and paste support and both portrait and landscape support.

  • XBMC Music Streamer ($4) connects to a running XBMC host and streams music from the library to an iPhone or iPod touch. The applications home screen can be customized allowing users to have quick access to the items that they view as most important. Music can be sorted by Album, Artist, Genre or Song and the application brings over all data related to each track including album art and genre information. Support for Shoutcast radio stations is also included along with partial support for BOXEE.

  • iNetMania ($3) is based on a board game, ServerMania, which has players competing to build a successful web hosting company and finish with the most money at the end of the game. In iNetMania the players are completing against three others with the goal of creating the most successful website. Players can play against their friends or computer AI and can keep track of their gameplay achievements by setting up personalized profiles.
