iPhone apps: SplashNotes Outliner, beamME CV, Papers

  • SplashNotes Outliner ($5) can help users to make notes, plan projects and outline ideas. Users can build lists and attach additional notes and photos to each item for more detail. The lists can then be displayed as checklists allowing users to quickly turn an outline into a to-do list. There is also a companion desktop application that can be purchased which allows users to sync notes with any desktop computer.

  • beamME CV ($10) is a tool that allows users to always have a copy of their resume on hand. Users can upload their resume into the application wirelessly and then whenever they meet a potential employer the file can be sent to any mobile phone or computer. Whenever a resume is sent out the location is tagged allowing users to see where they have met employers and also stored in a history feed allowing users to view all the copies they have sent out.

  • Papers ($15) allows users to organize and browse a large database of articles. Users can add their own articles or lookup papers that have been written by specific authors or published in well-known journals. The application features its own PDF viewer allowing users to view any of the articles without having to close Papers. Users can also share articles by wirelessly exchange them with others using the application or though emails.

  • PixMatter ($1) allows users to upload pictures to the online photo service Shutterfly. The application lets the user decide on the album where the picture should be uploaded and what the name of each photo should be. Users can also queue multiple photos or upload an album in a batch.

  • Connect ($1) helps solve the problem of having to navigate though dial tone options when calling a toll free number. Users can select from a database of nearly 1000 of the most popular companies in the USA and Canada and select the department they wish to speak to. The application will then dial the number and automatically sends a string of tones to get to the request department.
