iPhone apps: Trumpet Improv, Easter Cards, Cool fx

  • Trumpet Improv ($1) is a trumpet simulator that takes advantage of some of the iPhone's unique abilities. The trumpet is activated by blowing into the microphone and holding down different fingers on the virtual valves. The pitch can then be changed by tilting the device up or down and vibrato can be added by rubbing back and forth over the valves instead of using a solid hold.

  • Easter Cards ($1) allows users to send an Easter greeting card which includes their own pictures via e-mail on an iPhone or iPod touch. Easter Cards include eight different Easter themes each which can be customize with personal photos. The photos can be adjusted in size and then will be automatically positioned inside the frames and masks in templates. A personal message can also be added to the card before it is sent.

  • Cool fx ($3) includes a variety of photo filters that can be used on any photo within an iPhone or iPod touches Photo Library. The filters are broken down into five categories: Black & White, Color, Diffusion, Grain and Temperature, and multiple effects can be added to each picture. Cool fx also includes tools for cropping and rotating the image and can be used in both portrait and landscape orientations.

  • iColor Easter Eggs ($1) allows users to create custom Easter greeting cards by coloring different easter egg designs. Users can choose different egg designs, backgrounds and greetings to use on their card then save the image and email it to friends and family.

  • Contact Power Search ($1) is a tool that can be used to search all fields of a contact list. The default contact search only searches by name but this application includes additional fields such as address, company, job title, email address and more. When a desired contact is found users can open their card and call, text message or send an email to them.
