Tate, more at iTunes U
Three important cultural groups have introduced new content to iTunes U, the educational section of the iTunes Store. Preeminent is the Tate series of galleries from the UK, which has further divided its material into three different sections. The first, Tate Symposia, features serious examinations of exhibits and culture by experts.
Talk & Discussions incorporates similar themes, but also brings in comments from celebrities such as Jarvis Cocker or Michael Palin. The last section, Courses, Workshops & Study Days, provides specific educational material on present or historical British art.
The two remaining institutions are French, beginning with the Chateau de Versailles. Representing the famous French palace, the group is providing a limited amount of English content on iTunes, such as background on Marie Antoinette. Also available is a collection of musical performances. The Fondation Cartier, meanwhile, has published material supporting new art exhibits as well as archived lectures and conferences.
